Today ended with these Lupini beans and vinho verde at a beachside cafe after a swim at the black sand beach of Mosteiros. Earlier we drove the hydrangea-lined road to the top of the blue-green lake Sete Cidades. Magical! ✨
We walked to a high point above Lagoa do Fogo today and could see the ocean on both sides of the island. Absolutely spectacular!
We made it to the Azores and this is our home for the next several days. ❤️ If you happen to be in Ponta Delgada this week, come to my book signing Wed at 8pm at Bertrand!
This sweet (and very old) stone cottage overlooks the sea. It’s filled with antiques and hand painted pottery and flowers from the garden. Plus, our hosts left us a few things to eat including eggs from their chickens. (@jackproz booked this one and I give it a 👍🏼👍🏼!) #forestfeasttravels #portugal #azores #thegleesnits
Cheers to this superdad who I feel endlessly grateful to parent alongside! My greatest hope is that our boys turn out like you. Happy Father’s Day @jackproz!
These first 2 pics are from Portugal in 2017...and we are flying back to Portugal (the Azores) today! It’s great traveling with a guy who thinks 3 months on the road with 2 little kids is no big deal— and he certainly makes it easier and more fun for all of us. Here we go again, can’t wait!

I just got my hands on a copy of the new #ForestFeastMediterranean cookbook that comes out in September! A few handbound copies just arrived to my publisher @abramsbooks and since I am in NYC my editor was able to send a copy right over to me. I was SO EXCITED to see it for the first time and am SO HAPPY with how it turned out. Thank you @ljdozier + @alisonfargis! Can’t wait to show everyone soon! Preorder link in profile!!!

Doing a little plant + flower shopping in NYC, first in Soho, then in the urban jungle that is 28th street— I think I need to use dried flowers more often, these ones were so vibrant!
As stone fruit starts to come into season, this is one of my favorite warm-weather dishes for a weeknight dinner, potluck or dinner party.
Tomato, basil, peach, mozzarella and bread chunks...and you can call it a salad:) Swipe for the recipe —>

I had a bunch of meetings today in NYC to talk about new and exciting projects for The Forest Feast. I have so many ideas and am exploring how to make them happen!
I also had lunch at Eataly with my amazing editor @ljdozier from @abramsbooks (great pizza and they sell my book!). We brainstormed a game plan for a new book I *just* signed on for (!), and will start shooting in July. Can’t wait to share more soon!
In Ithaca, we passed a stunning field of wildflowers and I asked @jackproz to pull over so I could pick some. Dreamy!
